What to wear

The weather in Singapore is pretty consistent all year 'round. On the day of the wedding you can expect some showers (probably in the afternoon), partly sunny with a low of 25 and high of 32 degrees celcius, and it will be huuuuuuuuuuu-mid.

The wedding ceremony and reception will be inside in an air conditioned restaurant which means you may feel a tad cold - people wearing long sleeve shirts will be fine but for those wearing sleeveless, consider some sort of wrap - just in case!

Men's dress suggestions - Come in whatever you feel comfortable in! We have it on good authority that the groom will be wearing a tie but please by no means think this is expected of anyone else. A shirt, slacks, and shoes sound pretty good to us. Also, tutus are encouraged.

Women's dress suggestions - We know you will all look ravishing so come in whatever makes you feel at your loveliest. Summery dresses are probably the way to go (short, long, and anything in between is fine) and as suggested above, you may want to consider a shawl or wrap in case the air conditioning gets a little chilly. If you want to wear stockings or pantyhose it's up to you though when outside in the tropics we have it on good authority that this is really not a pleasant experience.

How to get there

Please do not be late! We repeat, PLEASE DO NOT BE LATE! Singapore is the land of efficiency and this also applies to celebrants - we are expecting to start the ceremony by 4:05pm at the latest (otherwise the celebrant is by law allowed to leave the venue) and if you arrive after this you won't be able to see the ceremony.

Please aim to arrive between 3:30pm and 3:45pm, and there will be drinks available as you take your seat.

When you enter the venue you'll be greeted by our lovely team of groomsmen to guide you to your seat. Please do not feed them.

Social Media

There will be WiFi available at the reception for one and all to use, if that takes your fancy. With Michelle being such a diva she would prefer no photos of her posted on social media as she apparently only has one good angle. However, photos and posts are always encouraged and if you wish to link up with the other guests please feel free to use the hashtag #michelleandferdi.

Gift ideas

Whilst we're on cloud nine to be celebrating our special day with you, we're not too detached from reality to know that a lot of you are traveling from afar and are making considerable sacrifices in both time and money. So please don't get us a gift - you being there to share our day is the best gift you can give us.

Now despite that warning, it seems that we have a knack for having stubborn friends and family. So if you absolutely insist on getting us something, and to prevent us ending up with 50 toasters, there are a couple of tokens we could suggest:

  1. Donate to a charity on our behalf - the Red Cross is involved in local disaster relief in South East Asian countries and this is something close to our heart. You can find more info on how to donate here.
  2. Give us cold, hard cash for our honeymoon fund in the form of an ang bao - there will be some red envelopes at the reception if you'd like to use one to look all cool and local and stuff. Remember: if it folds it holds, if it rings we're going to beat you over the head with it.

Visiting from abroad?

We know a bunch of yous are silly ang mo (foreigners) - so we put words on a page that make sentences. Check them out here.
